WHEN IT GOES WRONG

SARS letter of intent? Goods detained? Bad tariff ruling?

This is the work Mark built his name on. Appeals, tariff determinations and dispute resolution, argued by someone who spent 10 years inside SARS customs and 8 more at a maritime law firm. One recent appeal saved a client R6 million in duty.

R6m SAVED IN ONE CUSTOMS APPEAL

FOR MANUFACTURERS AND IMPORTERS

You are probably paying SARS too much duty.

Misclassified goods, missed rebates and unused trade agreements quietly cost importers hundreds of thousands of Rand. Mark reviews your imports and finds the money. If he finds no savings, you pay nothing.

Straight answers

Do I actually need an import/export licence?

If you import or export for business you must be registered with SARS customs. In practice the pressure point arrives at more than three shipments a year, over R150,000 of cargo a year, or any advance payment of R50,000 or more.

How fast is it really?

We submit to SARS within 24 hours of receiving your complete documents. SARS itself typically takes a few working days. We chase it until it is approved and keep you posted on WhatsApp.

What documents do I need?

Proof of company address, the contact person's ID number and proof of address, and proof of contact details for both the company and the contact person. A recent phone account works as proof of contact details, or a simple affidavit if you don't have one. We show you this list before you pay, and around 90% of applications go through first time.

Can I not just do this myself for free?

You can. SARS does not charge for the registration. You are paying for it to be done right the first time, fast, by someone who worked inside SARS for 10 years, with a refund if it is not approved.

Is the licence valid for life?

Your importer/exporter registration does not expire. If it sits unused for a year or more SARS can mark it inactive, and we can reactivate it for you.

What happens if SARS rejects my application?

We fix it and resubmit at no charge. If we cannot get you approved, you get 100% of your money back. That is the whole policy.
